Adult Education Opportunities
Our Saviour’s Adult Education classes now come in different shapes and sizes!
You can be fed during our one-hour “Main Course” classes - offered during several Sunday worship services or during the week. You can also taste test a “Small Bites” class - offered in between Sunday worship services from 10:10 to 10:55 am.
Main Course classes are a series of classes focused on one topic.
Small Bites classes are single classes – an interesting topic to learn about during one 45-minute session. There is no need to register for Small Bites classes, just show up!
Note: Sunday School for kids will also be offered during the 10:10 to 10:55 am time-slot, so consider taking your kids or grandkids to Sunday School and then enjoy a “Small Bites” class of your own!

Adult Ministry (for women and men)
Lunch, Laughs, and Service - This fun group meets about every other month to share lunch, laughs and to come together to do some sort of service project that helps our community and beyond. Some examples of past service projects are handmade cards for our Military ministry to take to patients at Hines Veterans Hospital and no sew blankets made for LSSI’s Foster Care Program.
New Age Connection - A group for those 50+ who are approaching or in the midst of a new age (whether it be the 2nd or 3rd phase) of life and are looking forward to what’s to come! Join us for theater outings, wine tastings, outdoor concerts and our popular events onsite: Soup Surprise, Summer Picnic, and more! We also help to provide adult education classes that focus on topics which affect these phases of life. Click here for a list of the upcoming events. Look to the "Crossroads" and website for sign ups!
Pastoral Care Ministry is wide-ranging in its work, and includes helping members through visitation in homes, hospitals, phone contacts, or through referrals. Weekly visitation schedules are prepared so the Pastors and several lay visitors bring care and concern to those persons who are ill, hospitalized, or who may not be able to participate in the full life of the church.
Harper Lifelong Learning Institute at Our Saviour's is one of the satellite locations for the 100+ classes offered through Harper’s Lifelong Learning Institute. Topics cover a vibrant range of educational experiences where a member can explore politics, humanities, current events, or history—with qualified instructors—with no exams! Most classes are completed in one or two sessions. Membership in the Institute is $35 per year, which reduces your fee for any classes for which you register. Anyone over 50 is welcome to join!

Page Turners Book Discussion
A group of women meet the first Tuesday evening of the month at 6:30 pm for a book discussion. The books may, or may not, be spiritually-based, but they're all fascinating reads that are sure to invite thoughtful discussions.
Celebrate the Journey
This group of women meets the second Saturday of each month, September through May, from 9:15-10:30 am at OSLC. Women of all ages are invited to experience the benefits of a small group that uses selected books as a springboard to discussion and spiritual growth.
Women at the Well
We meet at OSLC on the third Saturday of each month from 8:30-10:00 am to discuss certain books in the Bible to gain further insight and wisdom in a friendly group setting. All women are welcome. Bring your Bible and coffee mug!
Men's Fellowship and Bible Study
Men's Bible Fellowship meets at Our Saviour's on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 7:30 to 9:00 am for a light breakfast and fellowship (September through May). Beginning on Saturday, September 16, 2017, each session will include a study of "Wild Man to Wise Man". Men often have few guides to lead them on their spiritual journey, but they still do long for guides and mentors. Please join in the discussion! For more information, contact Bruce Cruz at 847-255-3508.
Men's Bible Study
Beginning in September the Men's Bible Study meets at Our Saviour's the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 7:30 to 9:00 am (September through May). This year the video study will focus on "Reading Biblical Literature, Genesis to Revelation" by Prof. Craig R. Koester, Ph.D., Professor of New Testament at Luther Seminary. The first meeting will be on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
Prof. Koester is known for interweaving the study of biblical texts with their impact on art, literature, and music. All participants will get a chance to ponder, reflect, offer thoughts and questions, and learn together, thereby renewing our understanding and experience of Christian community within our wider world.
All men are welcome, first-timers or veteran. These occasions are an opportunity to make new friendships and renew old ones. For more information, please contact Dan Wertz at 847-398-7755.
